The very idea of a shoe with a built-in treadmill makes me break out in hives & I definitely don't understand what's going on in the patent photo, but treadmill shoes could be around the corner with Nike unveiling their patent for the concept.
The photo is confusing. Is the treadmill inside the shoe? Is this like a heelys? I just keep thinking of the moving walkways they have inside the airport. Either way, the design is supposed to help people put the shoe on their foot.
After reading a couple of articles, it looks like the design was actually aimed at helping people with ailments like arthritis.
