Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation is giving away prom dresses!
Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation is holding a prom dress giveaway.
“I heard about this in our newsletter in our neighborhood and I told my daughter two weeks ago, 'You gotta go to this,'” said Joanne Allenberg of Virginia Beach.
We visited the event at Bayside Recreation Center near Shore Drive and talked to recreation specialist Kaitlyn Childs.
“So, this is our Once Upon a Prom event. [It] started back in 2018 as a way for us to give back to the community, so girls can find their perfect fit for prom,” said Childs. "This year, we’ve accumulated about 400 dresses and accessories altogether, all donated from members of our community."
