It's a good ole fashioned Nor'easter... without the snow and rain. Very gusty winds expected for the next 24 hours or so. Wind gust were up to 80 mph along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, forcing the Bridge Police to close it down today. Tidal flooding is expected during the next few high tide cycles. That means flooding in low-lying areas! That means you, Norfolk.
The city of Norfolk will open the York Street parking garage at 6 p.m. Friday and keep it open through 8 a.m. Monday for residents who want to move their vehicles to dry ground before expected tidal flooding. The garage is at W. York St.
Old Dominion University will open garages A and B on W. 43rd St. and garage E on W. 49th St. and Bluestone to the general public at 6 p.m. Friday. Vehicles must be removed by Monday morning.
Additionally, Norfolk Public Schools will open school parking lots to the public at 6 p.m. and vehicles must be moved by Monday morning. Check in with our friends at WAVY TV 10 for the latest.
