Grand Jury Results Announced In Breonna Taylor Case

We are still saying her name - Breonna Taylor.

March 13th, 2020 Breonna Taylor was shot five six times by three officers while police attempted to execute a search warrant. One of the officers, Sgt, Jonathan Mattingly, who not only fired shots, but was shot as well by Taylor's boyfriend, sent an email to officers regarding the shooting Tuesday morning saying, "I know we did the legal, moral and ethical thing that night." Mattingly's lawyer confirmed this email to be genuine.

*Kentucky Attorney General confirms there was an additional "object" lodged in Taylor's foot sadly.*

In the words of Breonna Taylor's mother, “At this point it’s bigger than Breonna, it’s bigger than just Black Lives. We’ve got to figure out how to fix the city, how to heal from here.”

And that was suppose to start today as a Kentucky Attorney General has announced former officer Brett Hankison has officially been charged with 3 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Remember Hankison has already been fired from the force back in June after the Police Chief, Robert Schroeder said he'd "violated obedience to rules and regulations," and use of deadly force while serving the no-knock warrant."

Wanton Endangerment is defined as: A person is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree when, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person.

Obviously, the community is unhappy and feels this is not enough as there were three officers involved in the death of Taylor. In an attempt to prevent further community disruption Louisville Police are currently operating on an 'all hands on deck' schedule until further notice.

This is not the justice we've been asking for for the last 191 days.
