Jessica Simpson is getting back into the studio and teasing her first new music in over a decade, but fans are shocked by her nearly unrecognizable appearance.
The Dukes of Hazzard star took to her Instagram on Monday (December 16) to give fans a look inside the studio as she gets ready to make her musical comeback, more than 14 years after her last album. Simpson last released an album in 2010, Happy Christmas, but her most recent non-holiday related project was 2008's Do You Know.
"I can't wait for y'all to hear the soundtrack of my soul," she captioned the post.
While the new music should be enough to get fans talking, it was Simpson's appearance that captured the most attention, per Page Six. In the pic, the 44-year-old musician could be seen lounging in a chair in the studio wearing a satin white set overtop a black fishnet bodysuit with cutouts, paired with a black blazer and heels cowboy boots. She wore her long blonde locks straight and complete her glamorous look with a smoky eye and nude lip.
Fans in the comments noted that the "Irresistible" singer looked like a Kardashian, Paris Hilton and other celebrities, leaving remarks like "Girl who is this" and "I don't even recognize this person."
However, not everyone was focused on Simpson's looks as other fans hit back at comments criticizing her appearance.
"She seems healthy, happy, and free so maybe yall should just applaud her for living authentically and keep it moving," one commenter said, as another exclaimed their excitement for new music, writing, "Been waiting forever for a new one!!"
