HBO’s controversial Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland just won an Emmy for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction, and the Jackson estate is expressing their anger over it.
"For a film that is a complete fiction to be honored in a nonfiction Emmy category is a complete farce," the estate told Entertainment Tonight in a statement.
"Not one shred of proof supports this completely one-sided, so-called documentary which was made in secrecy and for which not one person outside of the two subjects and their families were interviewed.”
The documentary detailed Wade Robson and James Safechuck's accusations of sexual abuse at the hands of Jackson.
Michael Jackson's estate has always denied the accusations.
