Hurricane Dorian is heading in to Hampton RoadsâŚhereâs the latest:
The National Hurricane Center said in its 5 a.m. update that Dorian is producing hurricane-force in the southern Outer Banks.
Life-threatening storm-surge is expected along the North Carolina coast and in southeastern Virginia. Water levels could rise in advance of strong winds, the hurricane center said.
The eye of Dorian is passing about 25 miles east of Cape Lookout.

- Gas up the generator

The wind will increase until about midday. Then things will start to get better. HoweverâŚeven though the rain and wind will subsideâŚmajor tidal flooding is expected later todayâŚprobably around 4pm.
