Young Girl Mails Rock Back To National Park After Taking It

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park received a sweet letter over the weekend from a young visitor.

A child named Karina took a rock as a souvenir from the park - and it turns out, she felt guilty afterwards.

So she mailed the rock back to the park, along with a letter of apology, a drawing of the waterfall, and even a small donation!

“I loved it so much I wanted to have a souvenir to come home with me, so I took a rock," she said in the letter. "I’m sorry, and I want to return it.”

The park rangers responded to Karina, confirming that the rock was returned to its place, and thanking her for being “an amazing steward for the park.”
