BREAKING: NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Family Survive Fiery Plane Crash

A private plane carrying NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran off the runway and caught fire in Tennessee on Thursday, authorities have revealed.

Also aboard the small aircraft was Earnhardt’s wife, 1-year-old daughter Isla, and the family’s dog.

No one was killed in the crash and there were no serious injuries beyond cuts and abrasions, Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford said. However, Earnhardt Jr. was transported to Johnson City Medical Center. He was conscious and talking.

Kelly Earnhardt tweeted that “everyone is safe and has been taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”
