'Gossip Girl' Being Rebooted For HBO Max Streaming Service

It's been less than 7 years since Gossip Girl ended, but a reboot is already in production.

The new show will be available exclusively for Warner Media's upcoming streaming service HBO Max, and has officially gotten a series order.

It'll be run by the original creator Joshua Safran and producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

The original show launched the careers of Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick.

The reboot will be set 8 years after the original "Gossip Girl" website went dark, and will follow a new generation of teens introduced to a new kind of surveillance, addressing how social media has impacted this world.

No word yet if any of the old cast members will be involved.
