Nike Pulls American Flag Shoes After Kaepernick Complains

Nike has decided to pull a shoe featuring the "Betsy Ross" flag after a complaint by former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who said that he and others consider it offensive.

Kaepernick told the shoe-maker that he feels that the old American flag, featuring a circle of 13 stars, is offensive because it's tied to a period when there was slavery.

Nike had planned to release the shoes to celebrate the Fourth of July. The company said in a statement, "Nike has chosen not to release the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July as it featured an old version of the American flag." (CNBC)

How long until Donald Trump weighs in on this one?
