'Black Christmas' Remake Coming Soon, Starring Cary Elwes

Blumhouse surprised horror fans last week when they revealed a poster and release date for a new remake of the 1974 classic Black Christmas.

Now, The Princess Bride and Saw star Cary Elwes has joined the cast!

No details on his character yet, but Deadline reports that he "will play a main part."

Aleyse Shannon (Charmed), Brittany O’GradyLily Donoghue (The GoldbergsJane the Virgin) and Caleb Eberhardt are also starring.

Jason Blum will produce and Sophia Takal will direct the movie. And even though it's set for a December 13th release - it hasn't even began filming yet!

This will be the second remake of Black Christmas, which is about a group of sorority girls that are stalked by a stranger in their house during Christmas break.

The first remake, starring Michelle Trachtenberg, Katie Cassidy, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was released in 2006.
