Adam Levine: Why He Quit "The Voice"

Adam Levine had some serious issues with The Voice before he bailed on the show without notice last month, but he played nice with a farewell message on Instagram on Sunday.

Adam wrote, "About eight years ago, Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back turned away from the singers on the stage. We had no idea what we were doing or where it was going. It went on to be a life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever. Thank you to everyone who supported this long, strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go, [but] for me, it was time to move on.”

Reports from behind the scenes indicate that Adam was ticked about the way last season wound down, and let everyone know that in a public appearance promoting the show, refusing to perform and not posing for the usual smiley-face photos.
