Emilia Clarke Studied Hitler For 'Game Of Thrones' Finale Speech

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke had an epic speech in the final episode of the series - and it turns out, she spent a huge amount of time and energy preparing for it.

In an early scene of the finale, Daenerys Targaryen addresses her army of Unsullied and Dothraki warriors with a powerful speech in both English and made-up languages from the show.

Emilia said in an interview with Variety that she prepared for the scene by studying powerful dictators of history - most notably, Adolf Hitler.

“I watched a lot of videos of dictators and powerful leaders speaking a different language to see if I could understand what they were saying without knowing the language,” she said.

“And you can! You absolutely can understand what Hitler’s f—ing saying, these single-focus orators speaking a foreign language."

Emilia said she spent countless hours rehearsing the speech for 2 months because it "meant so much to her."
