ABC Sticking With "Hostless" Oscars Format

It looks like we're going to have another "hostless" Oscars next year!

ABC Entertainment Chief Karey Burke told said on Tuesday that it's very likely they won't bother trying to find a host for next year's Academy Awards show.

“You will not see us messing with that format to the best to our abilities,” said Burke.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences were “unbelievably happy with the results" this year, and they're hoping to have the same level of success with the same formula next year.

Viewership was up 11 percent this year from last year’s Oscars (26.5 million).

ABC says it stands as TV’s most-watched entertainment telecast in two years, beating the 2017 telecast of the Oscars on February 2nd, 2017 and NBC’s post-Super Bowl telecast of This is Us.
