The winner of last month's $768-million-dollar Powerball jackpot has come forward – and it’s a 24-year-old guy!
Manuel Franco bought the winning ticket at a Speedway gas station in Madison, Wisconsin.
“My heart was pumping and my blood felt warm,” he says. “I screamed for about five or ten minutes.”
Apparently, he and his girlfriend (who was NOT at yesterday’s press conference) each purchased five tickets. The winning ticket ended up being in his stack.
Franco says he wants to do a lot of good with the money, but that he also wants to do so safely - and make sure that his "future is secure", as well.
“I’m just gonna take off somewhere and take my time with it,' Franco said. “[I'll] talk to my family about it and make sure I’m spending the money the right way.”
This is the second-largest jackpot ever in the U.S.!
Franco says will be taking the lump sum payout of $477 million, which after taxes leaves him with more than $326 million.
