Meghan and Harry Are Breaking More Royal Birth Traditions

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are breaking even more Royal traditions when it comes to the birth of their first child. We’ve already told you about rumors that they’re hiring a doula, that they won’t hire a nanny, and that Meghan wants to keep her maternity leave as short as possible.

The latest word? They’re probably not going to follow in Prince William and Kate Middleton’s footsteps when it comes to newborn photo ops. For decades, Royal mothers have made grand exits from the hospital with their newborn in their arms for fans and the press to see. Kate did it with all three of her children – but Meghan probably won’t with her first.

This time, word comes straight from the Royals themselves. Buckingham Palace has released a statement announcing Meghan and Harry’s “personal” decision to “keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.” “The duke and duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” the statement continues.
