'The Umbrella Academy' Renewed For Season 2

It's official! Netflix has renewed the hit show The Umbrella Academy for a second season.

The show is based on the comic book series created and written by former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics. And if you finished the first season - this renewal is GREAT news considering the show was left on a cliffhanger ending!

The main cast members Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min are all set to reprise their roles. Additional casting news for season two is yet to be announced.

The series follows the story of seven children with different "powers", all born on the same day and adopted by a billionaire who creates "The Umbrella Academy" and prepares them to save the world in the future. The "siblings" reunite as adults after their father passes and are forced to work together to solve the mystery of his death and save the world from the apocalypse.

The second season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes, just like the first season, and production is set to begin this summer in Toronto, Canada.
