Pharrell Williams posted a video yesterday encouraging residents of Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads to become hosts with Airbnb for his Something In The Water Festival.
The festival will be taking place April 26th through the 28th. It's already sold out and will be the first of its kind in the city of Virginia Beach - and as a result, hotel rooms and Airbnb's have been filling up fast.
Pharrell explains that Airbnb, in partnership with the city of Virginia Beach and city police, would like residents to consider becoming hosts in order to show the diversity and inclusiveness of Virginia.
“We have everybody’s support. We’re all doing this together. It’s not me, it’s we, it’s us. It’s Virginia,” he says.
The city of Virginia Beach has been preparing ahead of the festival, and there is a public meeting planned at the Virginia Beach Convention Center for April 8th to discuss traffic, parking, and safety for the weekend of the festival.
