True crime fans, get ready for another must-see TV show!
Hulu just released the first trailer for The Act, their upcoming true crime anthology series that will focus on the story of a different crime each season.
This first season is based on the story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard (Joey King) and her mother Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette), as shown in the HBO documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, and the Buzzfeed article “Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter to Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom to Be Murdered”.
Gypsy murdered her mother in 2015 with the help of a secret online boyfriend after her mother had convinced her and everyone else throughout her life that Gypsy had multiple illnesses and was unable to walk.
Chloë Sevigny, AnnaSophia Robb and Calum Worthy co-star.
The first two episodes of The Act will premiere on Hulu on March 20th, with the remaining episodes rolling out every Wednesdays afterwards.
