Ryan let it slip during rehearsals that he seduced several dates by copying Patrick Swayze lifting Jennifer Grey . The Crazy, Stupid, Love script was immediately changed so that Ryan seduced Emma Stone just like in Dirty Dancing.
The movie’s producer recalled to Entertainment Weekly , (quote) “Ryan pleaded, ‘No you can’t put that in the movie.’ We put it in, much to his chagrin.”
The actors practiced the lift for weeks. They filmed it without stunt doubles. Ryan Gosling had the difficult part. He worked for months, eating only chicken and broccoli, to get washboard abs.
