Bebe Rexha is nominated for Best New Artist at next month’s GRAMMY Awards, but even though she’s got a high-profile nod, she says nobody wants to dress her. In a video posted to Instagram, Bebe says she can’t find a designer to dress her for the big night because she’s “too big.”
“So, I finally get nominated at the GRAMMYS and it’s like, the coolest thing ever. And a lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet,” Rexha shares, noting her team reached out to designers who turned them down. She adds, “a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big.”
She continues, “If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f—king dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy,” adding, “So all the people who said I’m thick and can’t wear dresses: F—k you, I don’t wanna wear your f—king dresses.”
- In her caption for the video she implores designers to, “Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size. We are beautiful any size!” Check out her video to the right.
