Have I gotten your attention? GOOD! Because if you're a Newport News resident or a city employee get ready to get excited and ring in the new year with the word FREE!

Newport News residents and city employees can get into seven local attractions for free this January — all with one card.

The attractions include: Peninsula SPCA & Petting Zoo, Virginia Living Museum, Lee Hall Mansion, Virginia War Museum, The Mariners' Museum and Park, Endview Plantation, and Peninsula Fine Arts Center.

You can pick up your passes at the following locations below with proof of Newport News residency or current city employment:

Newport News Visitor Center, 13560 Jefferson Avenue; Open Daily, 9 AM - 5 PM (Closing at 1 PM on December 24, Closed all day on December 25 and January 1, 2019)

Newport News Tourism Office, 702 Town Center Drive; Open Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM and Saturdays, 10-3 PM (Closing at 1 PM on December 22, Closed December 24 - 25 and January, 1 2019)

City Manager's Office, Newport News City Hall, 2400 Washington Avenue, 10th floor; Open Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (Closing at Noon on December 22, Closed December 23 - 26 and January 1, 2019).
