Yesterday, we told you that Heather Locklear has been placed under psychiatric hold again after her lawyer determined she was having a mental breakdown. Now, her lawyer is exploring her options when it comes to putting her under a conservatorship.
According to a source close to Locklear’s legal team, the star’s lawyer has been consulting Britney Spears’ conservatorship lawyers. Spears has been in a conservatorship since she was hospitalized after a public breakdown in 2008. Under the terms, she can’t make personal or financial decisions without her father and lawyer’s approval.
While the source adds that Locklear’s family are feeling “absolutely helpless” about her struggles after she’s repeatedly checked out of treatment early, it looks like her potential conservatorship will be a little different than Britney’s. The sources explains that it “would be of Heather as a person only, nothing involving her finances or estate.”
