Visitors to Hilary Duff’s house may want to be careful poking around her fridge! In a new interview, the actress talked about how she drank a placenta smooth since giving birth to her daughter Banks late last month. It’s said that the benefits of eating the placenta include helping prevent postpartum depression.
While that may sound unappetizing to some, it seems like Duff would recommend it to a friend! “Most delightful smoothie I’ve ever had,” she said. “I haven’t had a smoothie that delightful since I was 10 – it was calorie-fille with juice and fruit and everything delicious.”
Nowadays, she said she’s enjoying it in the form of ice cubes. When asked why she didn’t choose to eat the placenta in capsule form, she explained, “I’ve heard placenta burps are not ideal.” She also revealed that her six-year-old son Luca knows about the cubes and even asked to see them… which he apparently regretted. “He said, ‘I wish I hadn’t asked,’” she recalled.
