Heading into Election Day, Texas Senator Ted Cruz and comedian Jim Carrey traded shots over Twitter. Carrey got the ball rolling by portraying the conservative Republican as a vampire in a post supporting Democrats including Beto O’Rourke.
Carrey tweeted "Go Beto! Go Democrats!" Monday under a cartoon-like drawing of challenger Beto O'Rourke pulling back curtains as Cruz fled from the sunlight. Carrey wrote, "Let the sunshine turn all those bloodsuckers to dust." Cruz fired back in a tweet calling Carrey a self-described socialist, and added, "Vampires are dead and everyone knows the dead vote Democrat."
And no, it didn’t stop there. "Wow...sorry I rattled your chain, @TedCruz," Carrey replied. "I thought you would have more important things to do two days before an election – like sucking up to the guy who called your wife ugly and accused your dad of murder. But I get it! It’s hard to say no when Trump grabs ya by the (expletive)!"
