Disney World: Haunted by Ghosts...Really

Disneyland and Disney World are haunted. Literally.

The theme parks are popular destinations for people’s final resting place. Families regularly spread the ashes of loved ones. Despite laws regulations against dumping human remains in public places. A Disneyland custodian told the Wall Street Journal (quote) “The Haunted Mansion probably has so much human ashes in it that it’s not even funny.”

The park’s maintenance crews call these “HEPA cleanups.” They arrive with high powered vacuums to collect fine particles. The custodians have been reprimanded for using a different term: “Code Grandma.”

People smuggle ashes to scatter them in flower beds. Ashes are also often dumped in the water at Pirates of the Caribbean.
