Scott Wilson has been beloved for his role as Hershel Greene on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” and now, has also passed the age of 76. And no, this isn't an Internet hoax, a rep for the actor has confirmed that he passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles, California due to complications from leukemia.
“Scott will always be remembered as a great actor and we all feel fortunate to have known him as an even better person,” AMC says in a statement. “Like in our lives, Herschel was a character whose actions continue to inform our characters’ choices to this day.”
Luckily for fans, this isn't the last we'll be seeing of him. It was rumored that he'd be appearing in the just-premiered season nine of the AMC series...and we still will. Turns out, his scenes are already in the can - and it was confirmed during New York Comic Con over the weekend that both he and Sonequa Martin-Green (who've both long-been walker-fied) will be turning up.
- As you might imagine, Wilson’s “Walking Dead” castmates, fans and others have been breaking the Internet to pay tribute to the late actor on Twitter. See some of their tributes below.
