Bradley Cooper Hired His Own Dog for 'A Star Is Born'

Bradley Cooper never held auditions for the dog belonging to his character in A Star Is Born.

That dog belongs to Bradley. His name is Charlie. As the director of A Star Is Born, Bradley already knew that he and Charlie had great chemistry for the big screen. He told People magazine (quote) “I love dogs. Our characters don’t have a child, but they have a dog together. I wanted it to be part of their story.”

The animal rights organization PETA honored Bradley Cooper with its Compassion In Film Award. A spokesperson said (quote) “PETA has witnessed so much neglect of dogs on movie sets. But Bradley Cooper’s adorable dog steals viewers’ hearts because it’s clear that he loved being with his real-life dad.”

  • Last night in previews, A Star Is Born earned at least $3 million.
  • Lady Gaga is getting rave reviews for her acting while moviegoers are astonished at how well Bradley Cooper sings.
  • The soundtrack is available now
  • Bradley Cooper named his dog after his late father, who died seven years ago.
