Cast Talks about Big Bang Theory Coming to an End

The “Big Bang Theory” is coming to an end after it’s upcoming 12th season. Entertainment Weekly claims that it’s all because Jim Parsons was ready to leave the sitcom. While that hasn’t been confirmed, Parsons has released a heartfelt statement about the show ending, along with some of his castmates.

Parsons says that he’s “terribly grateful” for his castmates, who he’s calling his “playmates.” He thanks the writers for keeping the show alive for 12 seasons with their “organic, entertaining” ideas, marking it the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history. He doesn’t mention rumors that he was already planning on leaving, he just gushes over his fellow cast members and, of course, the dedicated viewers. Read the full statement below.

Meanwhile, his co-stars Kaley Cuoco, Mayim Bialik and Kuna Nayyar also shared heartfelt reactions to the show ending on social media. Bialik, who plays Parson’s on-screen wife Amy Farrah Fowler, writes on her blog that she’s going to have a hard time filming the remaining 23 episodes of the show through her tears. Cuoco says doing the show has been a “dream come true,” promising fans the “best season yet.” See the cast members’ posts below.
