Princess Meghan Markle has given birth to a healthy 7lb 3oz baby boy, Buckingham Palace has announced.
Meghan went into labor early this morning more than a week overdue. Husband Prince Harry is currently by her side, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The baby's sex is a surprise for the duke and duchess, who chose not to find out what they are having until after the birth.
The baby prince will be seventh in line to the throne, after their father Harry and his niece and nephews Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Meghan's mother Doria Ragland had flown to Britain to be at her daughter's side for the birth of the baby at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, having cancelled her yoga classes in Los Angeles and hired a dog sitter.
Her 62-year-old mother is said to have landed in Britain last month well before Meghan was due to give birth. Sources close to the family have said that Ms Ragland wanted to be by her side for the event.
Prince Harry was forced to cancel part of a planned trip to the Netherlands this week amid rumors that Meghan's first baby was due last weekend.
