A Salvation Army bell ringer had a record shift after a generous stranger dropped a check for $10,000 inside one of their red kettles in Overland Park, Kansas. The check is the largest donation ever left in one of the red kettles in the area.
Alexa Bowers was on duty when the mystery donor left the gift. She had her Girl Scout troop with her and says, “Singing Christmas carols helped attract more people to donate.” It seems to have worked for them and that big donation helps get the Salvation Army closer to their fundraising goal.
