The friendship between Michelle Obama and President George W. Bush is no secret. The two – who attend many events with their spouses, President Barack Obama and Laura Bush, respectively – are often seen laughing and conspiring together. At yesterday’s funeral for Bush’s father, their relationship was on display again.
Before the ceremony began, Dubya greeted the other presidents and their wives in attendance – President Donald Trump and Melania and President Jimmy Carter and Rosalyn. When he got to the Obamas, George reached into his pocket and pulled out what appeared to be a piece of candy and placed it in Michelle’s hand.
To review, George slipped Michelle a mint at John McCain’s September funeral, too. Afterwards, she referred to him as her "partner in crime."
