Joe Jonas and fiancée Sophie Turner have come to the defense of newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra after an article suggested that marriage is a sham, and called the bride a “scam artist.”
The article, titled “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's Love for Real?" was published in “New York" magazine’s”The Cut. In it the author writes, "At times, marriage can be a beautifully wonderful union that warms even the coldest of hearts, but sadly, this union evokes no such feeling," noting, "All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood's latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist."
It also adds "Nick, if you're reading this, find that horse and gallop away as fast you can!"
- Well, Nick’s family was quick to take to social media to blast the tasteless article, with Joe tweeting, “This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words," adding, "What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next." Sophie also chimed in with, “This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bulls--t."
- And apparently the backlash was enough for the mag to pull the article from the site and apologize. "Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards," read a note on the original article’s page. "We've removed it and apologize."
