Ariana Grande has finally dropped her video for “Thank U, Next,” celebrating such female-driven comedies as “Legally Blonde,” “Mean Girls,” “13 Going On 30” and “Bring It On.”
The clip features guest appearances by Troye Sivan, Liz Gillies, andKris Jenner, as well as some cameos from stars of the movies, including “Mean Girls’” Jonathan Bennett and “Legally Blonde’s” Jennifer Coolidge. Check out the video to the right.
- Fans were so excited to finally get a look at the video that Ari has been teasing for weeks that it broke YouTube and Vevo’s records for the most streams within 24 hours. It got 47 million views on YouTube to surprass BTS’s “Idol,” and another 50 million on Vevo.
- Meanwhile, lots of celebrities have taken to social media with their reactions to Ari’s new video, including “13 Going on 30” stars Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, and “Legally Blonde’s” Reese Witherspoon. "Every now and then something comes along and just brightens your day," Garner wrote. "@arianagrande you're adorable. Thank you, pretty girl." That comment sparked excitement from Ari, who wrote, “NooooooooOoOOoOo I'm crying. I watched this movie every night before bed growing up (and I still do sometimes, especially when I'm sad),” adding, “I adore you! "My friends took me to tiffany’s. we had too much champagne. i bought us all rings. it was very insane and funny. & on the way back to the stu njomza was like ‘b**ch, this gotta be a song lol’. so we wrote it that afternoon."
- It seems all the heartache Ariana has been experiencing lately may have turned her off love. In a now-deleted tweet, Ari shared with fans, “Actually … I don’t want no ‘next,’” referring to finding love again. “True love doesn’t exist. Hope you’re having a great day!” She then added, “remember when I was a hopeless romantic lmfaoooOO.” But it sounds like she really hasn’t given up on love altogether. She later wrote, "True love might exist i was just hungry," adding, “but still, f–k that.”
