I've said it once and I'll say it again, California is full of weirdos.
Firefighters in Sacramento, California were extinguishing a vegetation fire when 29 year-old David Virgil Carcalete decided to steal the truck, which is valued at $1 million. Caracalete then decided to pick up his girlfriend, 35-year-old Candice Scollard, who lived about a mile away. The two then went on a two hour, 100-mile police chase. Several agencies pursued the truck as it traveled across four counties and reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic.
The cops wound up putting down spike strips, which popped one of the tires but David and Candice kept going for another half hour until they finally crashed in a ditch. They're both facing several charges, including vehicle theft, evading, and possession of stolen property.
Below is video footage and pictures from the chase. One has to wonder if these two were on something or maybe there's just something in the water in Sacramento.
