Chris Hemsworth joined a brigade of celebrities who have donated toward fighting bushfires that are destroying Australia.
The fires have scorched territory equal to half the size of the state of Ohio. More than 1,500 homes are destroyed. An estimated half billion wild animals, including native koala and kangaroo, killed in the flames.
Monday on Instagram, Chris Hemsworth pledged $1 million to help Australian wildfire relief efforts. He encouraged his 39 million followers to chip in what they can afford. Donations will go directly to the frontline firefighters, the communities affected and the injured animals.
