Netflix Lands Streaming Rights For 'Seinfeld'

Netflix is set to lose its two most-watched shows to other streaming services soon: Friends and The Office.

But it looks like they won't have to worry too much - because they just secured the global streaming rights to Seinfeld.

The 90's sitcom will become available on Netflix in 2021. Currently, it's been available on Hulu since 2015.

Netflix signed a $500 million deal with Sony Pictures Television, who handles distribution of the show.

“Seinfeld is the television comedy that all television comedy is measured against,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said.

“It is as fresh and funny as ever and will be available to the world in 4K for the first time. We can’t wait to welcome Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer to their new global home on Netflix.”
