Britney Spears Speaks In Court About Conservatorship

Britney Spears appeared in court today to speak about her conservatorship.

The judge cleared the courtroom of all members of the public and media before Britney appeared, so only those involved in the case would be able to hear her statement.

The conservatorship has been in place for over 11 years, and it enables her father Jamie to be in control of her finances and many other aspects of her life and business. Her mother, Lynne Spears, was also present in court and is reportedly trying to gain access to Britney's medical records so that she can keep a closer eye on her affairs.

The judge has not yet issued a ruling or statement on the case, but a status hearing was set for September 18th. Sometime before then, an evaluation will be taken of Britney and her mental state.

She was brought in and out of the courthouse via backdoors and side entrances, as many fans and protestors were present outside with signs in support of her freedom.
