Fake Jason Statham Cons Fan Out of Thousands of Dollars

A man pretending to be Jason Statham scammed a British woman out of thousands of dollars!

The woman said it all begin when the fake Statham sent her a personal message while she was on his Facebook fan page. She was flattered that the "star" struck up a conversation. After a few conversations, they started exchanging messages on WhatsApp.

It soon turned into a full-blown catfish situation – he would even call her “baby” and "honey.” After he had her completely fooled, he told her a sob story about having “financial difficulties because of a delayed film payment” - for over $25,000.

**For the record, the real life actor is married to supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and is reportedly worth around $70 million.**

But the victim was completely unaware of this, and ended up wiring the con artist thousands of dollars in installments. While she didn’t want to confess the exact amount, the woman admitted that she was targeted at a vulnerable time since recently lost her mother and fiancé.

“I’m quite a strong person but obviously certain things get to you and you let your guard down,” she said. “I don’t feel like I was in the right place myself because of what I’d been through.”

The Greater Manchester Police are investigating the scam.
