Luke Perry's Daughter Responds To Trolls Criticizing Her Grieving Process

On top of coping with the sudden death of her father, Luke Perry, 18-year-old Sophie Perry now says she's facing criticism from people on social media who don't think she's grieving enough.

In a long Instagram post, she addressed critics who are now attacking her following the death of the her father. He passed away last week at the age of 52.

"Those of you shaming me for my language and my wardrobe and most disgustingly, my grieving process, do us both the favor and just unfollow," she wrote on Instagram Monday. "It’s a waste of both of your time."

Some users slammed Sophie after she appeared to be in good spirits on Instagram Friday while thanking her mother, Minnie Sharp, whom she credited with being "the rock for everybody grieving in this family right now."

Perry acknowledged the outpouring of love and support her family has received over the past week, but noted that, "of course, some people just can’t be nice."

"Since my dad died I have received a lot of attention online… And I’m here to say that I did not ask for this attention," Sophie wrote. "YES I am hurt and sad and crying and beside myself with what happened to my dad. It’s the worst thing to ever happen in my life. And I am torn the fuck up over it. But I’m not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise."
