Jussie Smollett "Attackers" Issue Apology

The two brothers, who were allegedly paid to stage a hate crime attack on Empire star Jussie Smollett, have released a statement apologizing for their role in the hoax.

A lawyer for Abel and Ola Osundairo issued a statement saying his clients have "tremendous regret" for taking part in the plot and wish to apologize. He writes, "My clients have tremendous regret over their involvement in this situation, and they understand how it has impacted people across the nation, particularly minority communities and especially those who have been victims of hate crimes themselves."

The brothers were initially arrested two weeks ago but eventually let go after they came clean to police about the plot. Despite their admission and other evidence which appears to back it up, Smollett continues to maintain his innocence. His next court hearing is scheduled for March 14th. (WLS-TV)
