"Black Panther" Sent Michael B. Jordan to Therapy

“Black Panther” was a box office success, but it sent Michael B. Jordan  to therapy . Apparently to get into his Erik Killmonger character, he purposely distanced himself from others.

“I figured Erik, his childhood growing up was pretty lonely,” Jordan told Oprah Winfrey for an upcoming edition of her “Super Soul Conversations” TV special. “He didn’t have a lot of people he could talk to about this place called Wakanda that didn’t exist.” In addition, he leaned on the pain and rage and all the emotions Killmonger represented from “being Black and Brown here in America.”

When filming was over, Michael found it difficult to connect with people again. “Readjusting to people caring about me, getting that love that I shut out,” Jordan shared. “I shut out love, I didn’t want love. I wanted to be in this lonely place as long as I could.” Thankfully therapy helped him out. He didn’t mention how often he went or if he continues to go.
