WATCH: Governor Refuses to Resign Because of Picture Controversy

If there was ever a manual for dealing with a serious allegation, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam never got it. What everyone – including Governor Northam – knows for sure? That there’s a SUPER racist photo on his page in his medical school yearbook. What he doesn’t know? That’s it’s not him. Exactly.

Here’s what happened. The photo surfaced on the weekend – it has one person in blackface smiling next to someone in a KKK outfit. First, Northam threw himself on a proverbial sword and apologized for such a terrible error. But then, he took it back, saying at a press conference that he doesn’t believe it was him…because he has a much more vivid memory of appearing in blackface when he impersonated Michael Jackson at a dance contest in 1984.

And here’s were things really go off the rails: a reporter asked him if he could still moonwalk and he appeared to consider showing them… until his wife noted that it was an “inappropriate time.” As such, he also thinks that suggestions he resigns are not something he’ll consider – even as a chorus of Democrats across the country are calling for him to step down. Instead, he says he’s committed to fight racism as he finishes out the rest of his term. See some of the press conference below.
